Housing Support Adviser

Responsible to: Advice Services Manager

Hours: 26 hours per week over 4 or 5 days

Salary: £21,474 - £23,364 pro rata, depending on experience, fixed term for 2 years, subject to funding

Citizens Advice Rossendale & Hyndburn has secured 2 years funding from The Henry Smith Charity to provide a housing support service that will help people who are homeless, threatened homeless, or have recently been homeless.

This role will give you the opportunity to support people who live in Rossendale & Hyndburn and the right candidate will have experience of advising and supporting tenants, particularly in the areas of housing, benefits and finance.

Working within the communities of Rossendale & Hyndburn, the right candidate will have excellent interview skills, empathy and organisational skills. Your skills will enable you to offer practical advice, information and assistance to enable people facing homelessness secure accommodation, maintain a new tenancy and work with people whose tenancy is at risk to prevent homelessness. 

This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with other organisations, including the local authority, ensuring clients access the best support available for their needs.  You will have the dedication and compassion required to help people resolve their housing issues and be committed to achieving the overall aims of this project.
